Karen A. Wegmann, M.B.A., is the Chief Financial Officer of the YAI Network, where she has worked since 1986. She has played a pivotal role in expanding the YAI Network’s scope and services and in ensuring its long-term financial stability. Ms. Wegmann facilitated the development of a department of 12 staff members to a current staff of nearly 100. She oversees all finance and technology operations, which support the Network’s annual budget of $270 million. A strong advocate for people with developmental disabilities, Ms. Wegmann has served on various statewide committees and taskforces and is the Chairperson of the InterAgency Council’s Controllers Group, where she advocates for improving the financial and economic environment across the spectrum of funding sources for YAI, as well as 400 other disability agencies.

Ms. Wegmann is committed to mentoring the next generation of non-profit leaders and frequently lectures on best financial practices to graduate-level social work students at the Adelphi Graduate School of Social Work, CUNY Graduate School and the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Social Work. She has also been an Adjunct Lecturer of Economics at the City University of New York. Previously, Ms. Wegmann held various financial and budget positions in the publishing and broadcasting divisions of CBS, Inc. She holds an M.B.A. from Pace University and a B.A. from Queens College.
