Thomas A. Dern, L.C.S.W., has worked for the YAI Network for more than 30 years years. He oversees YAI’s Certified Home Health Agency and more than 100 community residences. In addition, he serves as the administrative liaison for the Rockland County Association for the Learning Disabled and the National Institute for People with Disabilities of New Jersey, both members of the YAI Network. Together, these programs employ more than 2,500 staff members, who serve thousands of people with disabilities. A lifelong advocate for people with disabilities and their families, Mr. Dern received his Master’s of Social Work from Hunter College in 1979 and regularly teaches graduate-level social work classes.
