Change Lives at the Central Park Challenge on Saturday, June 5

March 10, 2010

CPC web site is live photo

The 2010 YAI and Broadview Networks Central Park Challenge is only 12 weeks away! The event is a truly inclusive day for people of every age and ability, with a 5K Run, 3K Walk and a Children’s Play Area, featuring fun activities and live music. Register today!

On Saturday, June 5, join us in Central Park as we walk, run and change lives for people with disabilities and their families. YAI Spokesperson Sherri Shepherd, co-host of ABC-TV's "The View" will be there, along with her friend Jaden, a little boy with autism who is spreading YAI’s message of hope and opportunity to people all over the New York metro area.

We need you in 2010!

The poor economy and New York State’s budget crisis is taking its toll on vital state-funded programs for the people we serve. Currently, programs in Day Services and Residential — essential services for some of our most vulnerable clients — are facing devastating cuts. At the YAI Network, compromising the quality of life for people with disabilities is not an option and we are committed to filling the gap, but we need your help!

Here’s what you can do.

Join us. When you come to Central Park on June 5, you will be advocating for the rights of people with disabilities to be active members of their communities.

Form a team. Teams can be composed of runners, walkers or both — in fact, you can even have virtual team members who support your efforts remotely! When you form a team, invite your friends and colleagues to join you and raise funds online or in person, you are joining the grassroots movement of people who are stepping up to fight for people with disabilities. Form your team now!

Donate. Your financial contribution, no matter the size, will help to ensure that the YAI Network can maintain its outstanding quality of services.

Register for the 2010 YAI and Broadview Networks Central Park Challenge today!
