Special Education/Preschool & Early Intervention Opportunities at the YAI Network occur at our New York League for Early Learning.

Early Childhood Special Education Teachers

Work with children up to the age of five in a center-based setting. Prepare IEPs or IFSPs and progress reports for each child. Meet with parents, involve them in their child's activities and progress, direct teacher assistants. Oversee average classroom size of 12:1:2. Work in collaboration with a team of PTs, OTs and SLPs to achieve educational goals.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Special Education Teachers

Work with children up to the age of five in home and community-based settings. Develop and administer curriculum assessments. Maintain daily data collection. Work with parents; involve them in their child's activities and progress. Implement ABA techniques with children with ASD and PDD. Average classroom size 8:1:2. Work in collaboration with a team of PTs, OTs, and SLPs to achieve educational goals. 

EI (Early Intervention) Special Education Teachers

Work with children birth to age three in home- and community-based settings. Work closely with families to involve them in their child's activities and progress. Prepare and implement IFSPs.

SEIT (Special Education Itinerant Teachers)

Work with children age three to five in home- and community-based settings. Work closely with families to involve them in their child's activities and progress. Prepare and implement IEPs.

Teacher Assistants

Teacher Assistants / Substitute

Work under the direction of a lead teacher. Participate in the children’s educational planning as well as parent/teacher conferences. Assist in ensuring the health and safety of children in the classroom. 

Per Diem 1:1 Teacher Assistants

Work under the direction of a lead teacher 1:1 with individual student to achieve educational goals. Participate in the child’s educational planning as well as parent/teacher conferences. Assist in ensuring the health and safety of children in the classroom.
