The Friends of YAI membership program was created to give family members and other supporters the opportunity to get more involved with fundraising initiatives, as well as local, state and federal advocacy. YAI’s success is built on partnerships. We partner with government, the private sector, the people we serve and their families to ensure that the organization is strong and vibrant.

Fundraising

Throughout the year, Friends of YAI members participate in fundraising through appeals and a number of events, including the Central Park Challenge, an annual Gala, our Family Dinner Dance and a golf tournament. These events raise funds and create awareness of what people with disabilities can achieve with the right support. Click here to learn more about our fundraising events.

Advocacy

YAI Network relies heavily on government for funding for nearly all of our programs. Active involvement in YAI advocacy efforts is essential in order to maintain those funds. Occasionally, we alert Friends of YAI members to important issues and ask them to reach out to their local representatives in the city, state or federal government.
