Updated OPWDD Front Door Requirements
On November 10, 2020, the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) released updated Front Door Requirements. The new procedure outlines who is still required to go through the Front Door process in order to access or request a change in OPWDD services.

Revised Staff Guidance for the Management of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Facilities or Programs Operated and/or Certified by the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities
The guidelines outlined in this document are designed to minimize the risk for the transmission of COVID-19 from infected to non-infected persons. The requirements outlned in this guidance are for providers of services to people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) certified or operated by the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). This includes staff employed by the OPWDD (State-Operated programs) and those employed by community organizations (VoluntaryOperated programs).
OPWDD Health Advisory: Revised Protocols for Personnel in Clinical and Direct Care Settings to Return to Work Following COVID-19 Exposure or Infection
This advisory supersedes guidance from the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) pertaining to the COVID-19 outbreak, entitled “Updated Protocols for Personnel in Clinical and Direct Care Settings to Return to Work Following COVID-19 Exposure or Infection,” released on March 28, 2020. This guidance applies to all facilities and services certified by OPWDD. This document outlines the procedure for staff to return to work following COVID-19 exposure or infection or if they were out of state.
Free COVID-19 Testing at YAI's Premier HealthCare Locations
YAI's Premier HealthCare locations now offer rapid Antigen and PCR testing for COVID-19 and antibody testing at our five clinics in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. All five Premier clinics are open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 7 pm. Our Manhattan clinic is now also open exclusively for COVID-19 testing on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm.

Cash Assistance Program for COVID-19 Bereaved Families in Financial Distress
Households who lost a breadwinner or caregiver to COVID-19 may be eligible for emergency cash assistance, through the Montefiore Family Resilience Fund. Families must be referred by a clinician (physician, NP, PA, social worker, or psychologist.)

OPWDD COVID-19: Interim Visitation Guidance for Certified “Supportive” Residential Facilities
On October 28, 2020, the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), released COVID-19 interim guidance for certified supportive residential facilities. The guidance applies to residences certified as a Supportive Community Residence, and any Small or Large Individualized Residential Alternative that provides less than 24-hour staff support.
NYS Interim COVID-19 Guidance: Designated Cluster Mitigation and Oversight
The Governor and the NYS Department of Health (DOH) have begun to identify geographic areas with higher than average rates of COVID-19 transmission, referred to as “hot spots,” “clusters,” and “micro clusters.” The risk of transmission is characterized by three colors (red, orange and yellow) and the level of mitigation management is increased as geographic areas demonstrate higher rates of infection and move along the continuum from yellow to orange to red.
Access to Technology Funding Opportunity
The New Jersey Council on Developmental Disabilities (NJCDD) will be processing requests for electronic devices for adults (21 and older) with intellectual and or developmental disabilities (I/DD) enrolled with the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities Community Care Program or Supports Program.
