An Introduction to Grief and Bereavement Supports for People with I/DD

This one-day comprehensive training is open to DSPs, Managers, BIS, Clinicians, Trainers, ISCs, and Social Workers. Staff who participate in this training will be better able to support someone who is grieving, has experienced a loss, and those who choose to die at home.

The workshop includes valuable information and a variety of exercises and activities that are used to heighten staff’s awareness around issues of planning and preparing for end-of-life, as well as supporting someone through the grief process. This interactive workshop will provide practical tools that staff can use immediately.

Social Work CE Information

This is a one-day course and attendees will earn 6 CE contact hours.

Young Adult Institute, Inc. (YAI) is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0171 

The New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work requires all registrants attend the entire training to receive the Social Work CE hours.

Cancellation Policy
If a cancellation is received two weeks (14 days) prior to a scheduled training, a refund will be provided. Participants who cancel their enrollment less than 14 days but more than 5 days will not be refunded but given credit towards a uture trainings. Cancellation less than 5 days will result in no refund or credit. 

No-Show Policy
Given the high demand for our trainings, no credit will be provided if the cancellation is not received prior to the training.

YAI’s Center for Professional Development reserves the right to cancel a training due to low enrollment numbers. Registrants will be notified at least 2 business days prior to the scheduled training.
