January 23, 2019*

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

These three consecutive, 2 hour workshops will guide participants in the practical application of therapeutic positioning as part of Posture Care program. Posture Care positioning is based on Restorative Yoga Asanas and the UK Nighttime Positioning Program. Participants will learn observation and intervention skills in order to identify, prevent, and in some cases, even restore mobility related to conditions caused by thoracolumbar scoliosis, pelvic obliquity, and hip migration/subluxation/dislocation. These three body shape distortions and deformities often occur early in people with developmental disabilities, including people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The three workshops focus on establishing a viable base in the primary positions for all ages in the following:

1. Supine

2. Sitting

3. Standing
