The program is designed to train professional staff from agencies that support people with I/DD through the travel training process.

YAI Network has been awarded a grant from the New York State Department of Transportation to provide a comprehensive travel training program to people across the New York City metropolitan area which includes:

  • Training staff from I/DD agencies on the travel training process using a 2-day curriculum
  • Complete Person-Centered assessments for people with I/DD
  • Some staff may be eligible for certification

The program is designed to train professional staff from agencies that support people with I/DD through the travel training process. This program will decrease dependency on paratransit by providing professionals the tools and supports to enhance greater independence regarding travel.

This is a funded program, so YAI is able to offer this training to other I/DD agencies FREE OF CHARGE.
