As we continue to monitor the evolving COVID-19 emergency, please know that keeping the people we support and our staff healthy remains our top priority. We will provide regular updates on this page as the situation changes. YAI and its affiliates have put together a task force addressing the landscape and making decisions based on recommendations from regional authorities.

Program and Agency Closures

Please keep in mind that this information is subject to change at any time as the situation evolves.

Residential Programs

All YAI residential programs remain fully staffed and open. Since Friday, June 19 group homes in New York State, including YAI residences, started accepting visitors at their discretion following guidelines provided by OPWDD. All visits must be scheduled in advance. To learn about YAI-specific guidelines, please contact the residence's Supervisor.

Day & Employment Programs

Premier HealthCare

Premier HealthCare staff are tested weekly for COVID-19 to ensure that providers and administrative professionals are healthy, minimizing risk for all.

Offering rapid point-of-care COVID Antigen testing at our five NYC clinics in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. You get your results immediately. If additional testing is needed, a PCR test is conducted and the results come to you within 72 hours.

    • Rapid test results delivered in 15 minutes, before you leave our clinical site. 
    • The antibody test is FDA approved, results available within 3-5 days
    • No out-of-pocket cost, insurance is billed directly 
    • Appointments are required with same-day appointments available

Primary care, dentistry, psychiatry, and podiatry are available on site at Premier clinics at East 41 Street in Manhattan, Remsen and Nostrand in Brooklyn, and Bayside in Queens. Neurology is available at East 41 Street.

All other services may be offered by telehealth. Please call 212.273.6272 to discuss any other appointment options, confirm appointments, or ask other questions.

Center for Specialty Therpay

Center for Specialty Therapy is providing telehealth services with limited face-to-face opportunities. Limited OT, PT, and ST services available on site.

Center for Specialty Therapy staff are tested weekly for COVID-19 to ensure that providers and administrative professionals are healthy, minimizing risk for all.

Community & Family Services

CSIDD and CA START are both operating virtually.

Community habilitation and in-home respite are providing services though a range of modalities including face-to-face, telehealth, and combinations of the two depending on support needs.

In-home behavior management services are providing telehealth services with limited face-to-face opportunities.

NIPD/NJ

All NIPD/NJ residental programs remain fully staffed and open.

All other programs are closed until further notice.
