Bridging Education & Art Together (BEAT Global) Beat Rockers Program

Share

Founded in 2010 at the Lavelle School for the Blind (Bronx, NY), Beat Rockers is a music program that features beatboxing as the central tool for creative self-expression and speech therapy. They provide a safe space that is fun, culturally responsive, and accessible without the need for any music knowledge, training, or equipment. Anyone, regardless of ability or disability, can beatbox immediately and independently at any time. By utilizing the art of beatboxing, the students are empowered to become both the musician and the instrument.
