International Conference Features World Class Presenters

Don’t miss the opportunity to learn from some of the most prominent experts in the field of developmental and learning disabilities at the YAI Network’s 32nd Annual International Conference! This year’s conference, "Bridges to Success in Developmental and Learning Disabilities," will take place from May 2–May 5 at the Hilton New York and will welcome people from over 30 countries.

Some of the most prominent experts across the U.S. and around the world will address critical issues in the disabilities field. 

Highlights include:

  • Understanding the Hidden Curriculum for People with High Functioning Autism and Asperger Syndrome with Dr. Stephen Shore
    Dr. Shore, who was diagnosed with strong autistic tendencies and is an esteemed professor at Adelphi University, focuses his research on matching best practices to the needs of people with autism. 
  • No More Meltdowns: Handling Challenging Behaviors and Teaching Social Skills with Dr. Jed Baker
    Dr. Baker is an award-winning author of five books on social skills training and managing challenging behavior. His work has been featured on ABC World News, Nightline, the CBS Early Show, and the Discovery Health Channel.
  • Bullying and Teasing: Helping People with Disabilities Cope with David Hingsburger
    Dr. Hingsburger is an internationally known expert on sexuality and developmental disabilities. 
  • The Roots of Literacy:  Play and Language with Dr. Carol Westby
    Dr. Westby is the developer of the Westby Play Scale and an expert on play assessment and development, language-literacy relationships, and issues in assessment and intervention with culturally/linguistically diverse populations.
