A Message From YAI's New CEO: George Contos
Today is my first day as CEO of YAI. It is both a tremendous privilege and responsibility. I'm very excited by the opportunities that lie ahead and the prospect of what we can achieve together.
Since I was introduced to YAI six years ago and visited several of its programs, I've felt a powerful connection to the organization, the children and adults it supports, and the dedicated staff. Each day I hear incredible stories about how YAI is positively impacting the lives of people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD), and their families. I am proud to lead our efforts to enhance the self-directed support we provide.
We will continue to build and strengthen YAI's services, never wavering from our mission of empowering people with I/DD to live the lives they choose, through the best person-centered support we can offer.
My priorities are clear – motivate and engage our high-quality staff; listen carefully to the families and people we support; bring technological innovation to YAI for the benefit of everyone; be accountable to and work with state government to expand our revenue sources.
This will ensure that YAI continues as the ultimate standard bearer in the field. I will be relentless in my pursuit of this goal as we prepare our organization for the managed care environment.
