Well they worked through the night and early morning hours, but apparently there hasn't been a final vote on the New York State budget. We are continuing our work to persuade state legislators that we need a $15 minimum wage for our workforce funded through Medicaid.
ALBANY — New York state lawmakers worked through the night, debating and voting on parts of a $156 billion state budget whose bills included hundreds of pages that they didn't have time to read.
The state Assembly worked until 4:45 a.m. Friday before adjourning until 10 a.m.
The state Senate pushed through the night, with white-haired lawmakers continuing to deliver long-winded speeches about the budget's most controversial item, increasing the state's minimum wage to $15 an hour, at 6 a.m. as most New Yorkers rolled out of bed.
