Speech Language Pathologist
Alanna is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of New York. She holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). Alanna is also a licensed Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Alanna earned her Master’s degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from Teachers College, Columbia University. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Psychology from Tulane University.
Prior to working at Manhattan Star Academy, Alanna has had the privilege of working with children and adults in a wide variety of settings, including: Boston Children’s Hospital, The Edward D. Mysak Clinic for Communication Disorders, The Ghana Ministry of Special Education and Roosevelt Children’s Center.
Each year, Alanna continues to further her clinical scope of practice by participating in continuing education courses, collaborating with other clinicians and creating individualized materials for every student. As a passionate clinician and a life-long learner, she is dedicated to creating positive, motivating, and evidence-based treatment sessions that cater to each child’s individual needs. Alanna is looking forward to another year of collaborative intervention with the team and families at Manhattan Star Academy.
