Coordinator of Family Services
Amanda Northrop is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker. In addition, she holds a School Social Worker Certificate from the State of New York Education Department. She earned a master’s degree in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work, with a specialization in children, youth, and families.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Tulane University. Prior to joining the Manhattan Star Academy team, Amanda worked as a social worker at the New York League Gramercy School, a special education preschool.
She provided counseling, worked closely with the families, and helped to support the classrooms on a daily basis. Amanda also previously ran social skills group at a private practice and worked in early intervention providing behavioral therapy. Amanda strongly values the social emotional needs of each child she works with and works hard to be an advocate for each family.
