With the desire to use his skills to help further the interests of making society a more equitable space, Russell Miness has served as YAI’s Corporate Counsel since 2017. Russell brings more than 15 years of legal experience to YAI where he oversees the legal function of the organization. He advises departments and staff on pending legal issues that affect the organization and the people it supports. During his time at YAI, Russell worked on the merger of Rockland County Association for People with Disabilities into YAI, advised on the integration of the International Academy of Hope into the organization, and implemented a contract management system. Additionally, he advises YAI and its Board of Trustees regarding best practices centering around corporate governance for nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining YAI, he practiced law at Cullen and Dykman LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Russell holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
