Peer support is also provided.

For families residing in Staten Island, Project GROW offers workshops that cover a range of behavior management related topics including:

  • Surviving the Break: Creative activities and strategies to keep your child engaged and productive during school or program breaks

  • Behavior Management 101: Top tricks and tips to manage challenging behaviors from YAI’s signature Project GROW curriculum

  • Preparing for Changes: Techniques to best prepare your child for daily transitions and big life changes

  • Creating Visual Schedules and Picture Routines: Facilitators will work with caregivers to create personalized visual charts to aid in routine, communication, and daily living tasks in the home environment

Groups take place in Staten Island at different community sites. Pre-registration is required. Once registered, caregivers can choose how many and which workshops they want to attend.
