RCAPD provides a continuum of residential options ranging from independent apartment to 24–hour supervised homes in Rockland County. Supervised and Supportive Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRAs) are homes certified by OPWDD and provide either need based supports and services to those who are capable of living more independently (Supportive IRA) or 24-hour support and supervision (Supervised IRA) for those who need this level of support. Independent apartments are rented by the person who lives there and in-home supports may be available to meet the specific needs of the individual.
