Diversity Training: Unpacking our lived experiences
This is a virtual event.
This training will be presented by Joshua Trinidad, YAI's Diversity and Inclusion Officer.
We will take a deep dive into how we make decisions by better understanding the context in which our assumptions sit. We will ultimately ask ourselves the question: “How can I improve what I do every day by better understanding my own biases and assumptions?”
Over the course of this training, we will also address questions such as:
Why is it valuable to understand where other people are coming from?
How can this improve what we do every day in creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace?
By better understanding our own assumptions and the world around us we will begin to see how systematic oppression and privilege plague our workspace without us even knowing it is happening. This training will offer us the first step in abolishing these practices and liberating ourselves.
If a cancellation is received two weeks (14 days) prior to a scheduled training, a refund will be provided. Participants who cancel their enrollment less than 14 days but more than 5 days will not be refunded but given credit towards a future training. Cancellation less than 5 days will result in no refund or credit.
Given the high demand for our trainings, no credit will be provided if the cancellation is not received prior to the training.
YAI Knowledge reserves the right to cancel a training due to low enrollment numbers. Registrants will be notified at least 2 business days prior to the scheduled training.
