Connecting with each other in a familiar place

Being part of a vibrant group engaged in shared pursuits is key to every person’s wellbeing, no matter their ability. Day programs at YAI offer people with disabilities a ready-made peer community that engages in skills-building, recreation, and volunteer activities in the neighborhood. They also provide easy access to other forms of support and a pathway to pre-vocational and employment training. In addition to several Without Walls programs whose services are integrated within communities, YAI offers traditional day habilitation in New York City, Long Island, and in Westchester and Rockland counties.

YAI Services

YAI has a broad range of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). From residential, day programs, and schools, to kitchen skills, crisis services, and independent living supports for people in the community.
