Empowering people through technology

As technology is increasingly a part of our everyday lives, smart technological tools can assist with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), provide access to information and entertainment, and help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) realize personal goals. From off-the-shelf products like smart speakers and remote control devices to tools designed especially to support people with I/DD, technology is being pressed into service in new ways every day.

Those who receive support from YAI can grow more independent when technology is integrated into their lives. Using a person-centered approach, YAI is finding new ways to introduce technology into our programs, clinics, and schools.

YAI Services

YAI has a broad range of services for people with I/DD. From residential, day programs, and schools, to kitchen skills, crisis services, and independent living supports for people in the community.
