Diversity Training: Unpacking our lived experiences

Share

This is a virtual event.

This training will be presented by Joshua Trinidad, YAI's Diversity and Inclusion Officer.

We will take a deep dive into how we make decisions by better understanding the context in which our assumptions sit. We will ultimately ask ourselves the question: “How can I improve what I do every day by better understanding my own biases and assumptions?”

Over the course of this training, we will also address questions such as:

Why is it valuable to understand where other people are coming from?

How can this improve what we do every day in creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace?

By better understanding our own assumptions and the world around us we will begin to see how systematic oppression and privilege plague our workspace without us even knowing it is happening. This training will offer us the first step in abolishing these practices and liberating ourselves.
