A Thematic Approach to Teaching People with I/DD
This training will teach you how to successfully incorporate group work skills through a thematic approach. Learn how to teach people with I/DD through the use of themes to connect and integrate different activities throughout the day.
This training course will teach you:
How to facilitate fun and engaging person-centered activities;
How to view and use your environment in a creative way;
How to increase interest and participation of the people you support.
Be prepared to be challenged, mentally stimulated, and armed with tools to implement changes with the people you support to eliminate boredom and refusals while increasing fun, curiosity, participation and learning.

If a cancellation is received two weeks (14 days) prior to a scheduled training, a refund will be provided. Participants who cancel their enrollment less than 14 days but more than 5 days will not be refunded but given credit towards a future training. Cancellation less than 5 days will result in no refund or credit.
Given the high demand for our trainings, no credit will be provided if the cancellation is not received prior to the training.
YAI’s Center for Professional Development reserves the right to cancel a training due to low enrollment numbers. Registrants will be notified at least 2 business days prior to the scheduled training.
