Learn how to conduct an environmental analysis, perform person-centered assessments, and teach through each stage of the travel training program to support people in learning the critical skills required to progress toward independent travel.

To refer someone to our travel training program, you must first attend one of these information sessions reviewing the stages of travel training and all preservice paperwork. No referrals will be accepted outside of these sessions.

What does “consent” mean for people with I/DD? How can staff support someone to get ready to take the assessment? Who can/should do the assessment? These questions and many more will be answered in this training.

4 CE contact hours | Participants will navigate the grief process, learn concrete skills, and recognize warning signs.

5 CE contact hours | Attendees will learn how to teach people skills to be a good friend, help people identify what type of friend they like/want, explore types of intimacy (not including sex), strategies to build social capital, concrete activities to develop and nurture positive body image and self-esteem, dating skills, and how to handle rejection. 

6 CE contact hours | Attendees will learn how to teach people skills to be a good friend, help people identify what type of friend they like/want, explore types of intimacy (not including sex), strategies to build social capital, concrete activities to develop and nurture positive body image and self-esteem, dating skills, and how to handle rejection.
