Kevin Carey will head YAI as the organization's Interim CEO.

Effective today, Kevin Carey will begin serving as Interim Chief Executive Officer of YAI.

Carey, who joined YAI more than six years ago, previously served as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer.

“Kevin’s proficiency in financial operations and strategic management is only outweighed by his unwavering commitment to the people YAI supports,” said Jeff Mordos, Chairman of YAI's Board of Trustees. “For these reasons and much more, I know Kevin will have your full confidence and support. We are truly fortunate to have him assume the leadership reins of this organization.”

Carey succeeds George Contos, who has resigned from his position after seven years to pursue new challenges. Under Contos and the Senior Leadership Team, YAI accrued considerable distinction among providers of person-centered services, with more people gaining access to high-quality support.

"I am honored to have this new opportunity and I'm grateful for everything George and the rest of the Senior Leadership Team have done to make this transition as smooth as possible," said Carey. "I remain deeply committed to YAI, our affiliates, our staff, and the people we support. I know changes can be daunting, but I look forward to the challenges ahead and I am eager to share more in the weeks and months ahead."

Congratulations to Carey on his new role and also best of luck to Contos as he pursues new opportunities beyond YAI!
