Andrew Lindenberg is only 16 years old, but he has already learned to appreciate the joy of helping others. Andrew, whose uncle Danny lives in a YAI/NIPD residence, and whose father Lewis became a YAI/NIPD board member last year, enjoys raising money for the Central Park Challenge through family and friends.

“It’s great spending time with my Uncle Danny,” Andrew said. “He takes me to museums and other places.”

In honor of his bar mitzvah three years ago, Andrew organized a bike-a-thon with twelve friends, who were sponsored by their families, to support the CPC. Each year since, he has inspired his closest friends to donate money to the event. He has raised a total of approximately $5,000 for the CPC so far..

Andrew, who lives with his family in Chappaqua, New York, is a remarkable young man who is not motivated by materialistic rewards.

“I like helping people,” he explained. “It makes me feel good. And I appreciate people who are different.”
