Holly MacDonald Elected Trustee of Leading Disabilities Nonprofit YAI
NEW YORK, NY (August 19, 2020) -- YAI, one of the nation’s largest providers of support and services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, announced the election of Holly MacDonald to its Board of Trustees. MacDonald, Chief Investment Officer of Bessemer Trust in New York, joined the Board on August 10, 2020.
YAI, headquartered in Manhattan, provides comprehensive support and services to more than 20,000 children and adults and their families each year. It operates more than 300 programs throughout Downstate New York, Northern New Jersey, and California which integrate people with disabilities into the community and plays a prominent role in the national evolution of services for people with disabilities.
Recognized by Crain’s New York Business in 2020 as one of the foremost healthcare nonprofits in the New York area, YAI recently expanded on its core residential services and day programs to include crisis intervention, training for families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s, and telehealth through its five New York City-based health clinics. YAI operates two schools for young people with special needs and is piloting an innovative smart technology project with the support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. YAI has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and has served as an advisor to the governments of South Korea, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, among others.
Holly MacDonald holds an MBA from the Columbia Business School and a BA from Princeton University. She has served on the Board of Agora Partnerships and is a Trustee of the Episcopal Diocese of New York.
