WABC News’ Lindsay Tuchman reported that in Brownsville, Brooklyn the search is on for a missing 11-year-old boy in whose disappearance has left neighbors concerned and his mother in custody.

Investigators with a search warrant to search the building said no body was found anywhere. The young boy’s name is Jacob Pritchett, he lived with his mother and has autism. According to many witnesses, they report the child never attended public school and some neighbors have stated they haven’t seen him in weeks.

One witness, Crystal Burrell, stated, “I would always see a little boy in the window playing with his toys by himself making noise, and since all of this has taken place, I realized to myself like, the boy is not in the window no more. I haven't seen him like all summer.” For many, it’s a frightening situation.

Neighbors would hear yelling and screaming in the apartment. The police took into custody a 50-year-old woman who’s believed to be the mother, although she denies she’s the mother of the child. Yet ACS has recovered a birth certificate showing she is the mother.

The mother was taken to a hospital for evaluation. One has to wonder if this woman has a serious condition was she capable of having a child? Were the child’s screams ignored? Was this child ever checked for bruises or injuries? If this child is found, should he be returned to this woman who denies she’s the mother? This hurts!
