On October 31st I will officially be living in my apartment in Flatbush, Brooklyn for 21 years.

The apartment is run by an agency called Job Path, which helps individuals with disabilities find supported employment and apartments.

Overall, being that the agency is run by OPWDD, there are rules and regulations that the individual with a disability is expected to follow. They include participating in monthly fire drills and working on individual goals such as cooking and laundry.

My 21 years in my apartment has been the best living situation I ever had. All of the neighbors have been friendly and outgoing—something I didn't have that in my previous neighborhoods I lived in.

But soon, I will be moving to a new agency called the Block Institute. The Block Institute is an agency also run by OPWDD. As of right now, I will be living under the same agency as my long-time partner of 30 years, Anthony Huiett.

There are certain people who are aware and other people I'm close to who aren'ttttttttttttt aware of my new situation. I fear they will say I may be making a biggggggggggggg mistake giving up my current place to go elsewhere and start my life all over from scratch again.

But, I am both nervous and excited about my new move.
