Christopher Williams was a 15-year-old teen with autism who went to a special education school in Elmont, NY on Long Island.
He was left alone and he walked out of the school. The school realized Christopher was missing and called his mother to see if he was with her; he was not.
He ended up walking on the Southern State Parkway, which is a very busy road with a speed limit of 55 miles per hour. He was struck by a car and died at the hospital.
Christopher’s family blames the school for this tragedy and wants to know why he was allowed to leave the school alone. The school is reviewing their safety plan.
