Geraldo Rivera and Bernard Covello at the 2025 Puerto Rican Day Parade New York City. That day Bernard was named GRAND MARSHAL AMBASSADOR for the parade and was honored for his many years of service serving the disabled community. He’s been credited for creating Self Advocacy after his experiences at Willowbrook, which put Geraldo Rivera’s name on the map. Rivera was also honored that day. A major victory for all people with disabilities.
