I remember the first time I met Kevin Carey- it was at a YAI staff meeting - it was during a video shoot Kevin was doing- about the individuals Kevin and YAI supported over the years- when i mentioned certain aspects about how I wanted to live my life as an actor and rapper-HE LITERALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FELL DOWN LAUGHING!!!

I also participated in the YAI summit conference with Kevin 4 months ago- many of the YAI manhattan self advocates had done a 3-minute presentation - about what self-advocacy means and how self advocacy represents our every day lives!

Kevin also was my supervisor for the current job i have in the manhattan head office on the 8th floor- the easy read self advocacy job – which helps in self advocacy trainings for new staff entering YAI.

Whether it's the YAI group homes, the day programs, or managing the YAI head offices – Kevin - you will be sorely missed by all of us who loved you.
