Cobra Kai, the Netflix series and sequel of the original trilogy of the 1984 film “The Karate Kid,” concluded after 6 years on Netflix. The final show took place 34 years after the original, with the same actors from the original “Karate Kid” starring Ralph Macchio as Daniel Russo and William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, Daniel’s rival. In the Beginning Johnny opened cobra kai which had him reuniting with Daniel and restarting their rivalry. Then a few seasons later they forgave each other and gained redemption. They finally worked together to get overcome many obstacles. They even helped their family and students, and l they got help and guidance from old friends and an old master. They conquered some of their old rivals including Johnny’s previous teacher John Kresse who also lived with his own regret of the past. Then Kresse began to seek his own redemption. They even won the biggest karate tournament. The tournament was called the Sekai Taikai, which means “World Tournament” in Japanese.
In the end Johnny and Daniel became friends after 40 years and began to teach others their types of karate. The new movie “Karate Kid Legends” takes place 3 years after the Cobra Kai series, and it’s played with the same actor from the previous movie, Ralph Macchio again plays as Daniel Russo and Jackie Chan as Mr. Han from the 2010 Version of “The Karate Kid,” who was training Will Smith’s son Jaden in that movie. Now in “The Karate Kid Legends” Mr. Han and Daniel were training a young boy name Li Fong who was having a hard time living his life in New York after moving from China and trying to compete in a Martial Arts tournament. With the the expert teaching of these people, giving lessons in kung fu and Karate, Li Fong succeeds.
In my opinion the Karate Kid franchised had taught people about martial arts and how to be careful to build strong friendships, and also how to defend themselves against bullies. Maybe in the future there might be more karate kid movies that could inspire people while also passing knowledge and skills o to the next generation.
