In April 2025 I returned to Park Slope for another sightseeing tour. I saw that here have been a few changes.
The Detective Joseph Maryrose Park at 7th Avenue now had small fences around the park which was different since my last visit.
At 4th there were more new buildings. On 16th Street and 9th Street I also saw new buildings. Back in the 1990s and 2000s there was an auto store between 14th street and 15th street. In the 2010s that auto store was demolished.
Finally at Prospect Avenue between 5th and 6th avenue a new building was almost completed at the exact location where the original building known as the Grand Prospect Hall, which was demolished in 2020. I hope this new place will be done either by the end of the year or next year. Once it's ready I can get a look at it and if it's good we could possibly use it for YAI purposes. The same YAI possibilities exist at the new 11-story building located at 12th Street and 4th Avenue. This building received additional funding from the New York State Office of Development for people with disabilities. This also supports the Mercy Homes for developmentally disable New Yorkers. Some of those people may actually live there that might live there soon. They are also going to have new gardening programs. This is good, because in the 1990s there was a special garden at 12th Street before it got demolished in the early 2000s.
I really hope that new buildings can become good landmarks and help people enjoy different events.
