A Prom for Every Student: NYC Teens with Brain-Based Disabilities Celebrate in Style
A silent disco, sensory-friendly dance floor, handmade bouquets, and a family dance will help students with brain-based disabilities celebrate one of adolescence’s most anticipated milestones when they gather for prom on June 12 in Midtown Manhattan.
Designed around student choice, accessibility, and inclusion, the annual celebration features a student-selected theme “Purple, Excited, Circle” and activities planned with input from the students themselves. The event is hosted by the International Academy of Hope (iHOPE), a YAI affiliate school school serving students with brain-based disabilities and other complex needs.
