AHRC Crisis Intervention

Share

The Crisis/In-Home Behavior Management Team is a program funded under a Family Support grant from OPWDD to provide support for families in the Bronx who have a loved one with behavioral problems living in the home. The team consists of two full-time experienced psychologists, one a PhD the other an MA level psychologist, who visit the home and provide short-term behavior management assistance to the family members who care for the family member presenting with challenging behaviors. If there is a need for additional services in the community, referrals are made by the psychologists with the assistance of a Social Worker who is assigned to the team on a part-time basis. If follow-up or ongoing services are needed the team makes referrals to the appropriate mental health facilities. The team also provides “Post Crisis” assistance for families in situations where the original problematic behaviors recur or new difficulties.

Services are available 7 days a week 24 hours a day and can be obtained via phone.
