Autism Speaks

Share

Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. They do this through advocacy and support, increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism, and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.

Autism Speaks also has many helpful resource guides to find services and learn about autism. Some of our favorites are listed below. Use the links to pull them up and then filter to your location:

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA): You can search for ABA providers near your home by using the Autism Speaks Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Provider Directory.

Dental: Find dentists who specialize in working with people with autism by using the Autism Speaks Dentists Directory.

Locating Devices: Online directory of locating devices and other wandering-prevention technology providers.

Puberty and Adolesance: Autism Speaks' developed the Puberty and Adolescence Resource Guide to provide information on puberty that can be directly applied to pre-teens with autism. The guide helps increase families' understanding of puberty and their ability to adapt to these changes with confidence.

Support Group: Online directory of support groups for people with autism and their family members throughout New York State

Travel Resource Guide: Traveling can be challenging for children and adults with autism. The changes in routine, unpredictability, crowds, new noises and sights can all make the experience difficult for people on the spectrum and their families. Autism Speaks has created a list of travel resources for people with autism, including a guide on taking an airplane.
