CENTRAL PARK, Manhattan (WABC) -- There was a surprise on Saturday for Eyewitness News' own Bill Ritter, who did something he has been doing since 1998. Ritter was presented with a special Lifetime Achievement Award as he emceed the YAI Central Park Challenge.

YAI was originally known as the Young Adult Institute. The challenge involves a series of events in Central Park. The money raised helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The organization itself is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
